Lucky

Lucky Head ShotLucky is a 10-year old Border Collie mix diagnosed with lymphoma after her sneezing in mid-October triggered a trip to the vet.

Once diagnosed she was placed on a plan of 25 weeks of chemo treatments (same protocol as Pie for whom this fund is named).   Lucky is responding well and considered now in remission.

Her owner grew up with animals.  She adopted Lucky as a puppy from a shelter in 2005.  She describes Lucky as her pampered, spoiled baby, and a very special, loving dog.  Lucky had a dramatic response to the first treatment and his owner knew she had to keep going.

Lucky’s owner was very resourceful in obtaining financial assistance from friends and family, along with grants from several other funds.  But those resources had been exhausted by the time she applied to the Pie Fund, and there were five more treatments to be covered.  We were able to help with a modest grant, but wish it could have been larger.

There are so many needy dogs and their families to help and our funds are quite limited.  Please consider helping these wonderful dogs with a generous donation to the Pie Fund.
